An information distributor was planning to launch a new product offering and wanted to size the market to determine if it would meet launch thresholds. Turning first to their subscription service from Outsell, company executives gathered essential information. They then turned to Outsell analysts for further support.

Outsell analysts designed a custom study of 10 market segments, including a quantitative study of potential purchasers of the new content service augmented by interviews of participants in the target market. Analysis showed that the market was large enough to support the new product, but it also showed that the product wasn't ready to go to market. The client determined that creating a viable product would not be feasible and put the new product on hold.
