Kathy Yates, COO, AllBusiness.com, Inc.

Kathy Yates is Chief Operating Officer of AllBusiness, a leading online resource that provides practical information and services for growing businesses. AllBusiness is a venture-funded firm backed by VantagePoint Venture Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures, and Reed Ventures.

Prior to AllBusiness, Ms. Yates was President & COO of MarketWatch.com, a leading provider of business news, financial information and analytical tools, and producer of the MarketWatch.com and BigCharts.com websites, the MarketWatch Weekend television show, and the MarketWatch radio network. MarketWatch was acquired by Dow Jones in January, 2005.

Ms. Yates is a veteran Internet media executive, having started and led several Internet ventures since 1995. Her roles have included founder, Vice President/Business Development and Interim CEO for Knight Ridder Digital; founding Board Member of CareerPath (now CareerBuilder) and Classified Ventures (parent company of Cars.com); and Vice President/Product Development for Women.com.

Ms. Yates also previously served as CFO and then General Manager of the San Jose Mercury News.

Ms. Yates earned an M.B.A from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Trinity College with a degree in Economics.
