Cara Erickson, Managing Partner, NewCoordinates, LLC
Cara Erickson is Managing Partner of NewCoordinates, LLC, an executive search consultancy specializing in e-media that she founded in early 2006. She is also the co-author of Outsell's HotTopics research report on Creating the E-Media Organization. Her search business leverages 20+ years in strategic marketing, interactive media, and ad sales management at leading media organizations, notably The New York Times and Business Week.
Cara started her business career at The New York Times, where she held a series of marketing and sales management roles over a nine-year period. In the early 90's she was recruited as VP, Marketing at Business Week, where she became intrigued by the promise of new media and was the founding General Manager of Business Week Online, which launched on AOL in 1994. After a brief period as SVP, Strategic Marketing for McGraw-Hill’s Information Services Group, she was recruited to the management team of a New York-based “push technology” start-up. Subsequently she consulted to several Internet businesses and their investors before finding her own “new coordinates” in the executive search industry. During the past nine years, she has successfully built Interactive Media executive search practices at Johnson Smith & Knisely (later sold to TMP); Bishop Partners; and The Cheyenne Group, where she was a Partner until founding NewCoordinates.
Cara holds a B.A. in history from Duke University and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Columbia Business School.
