Reuters is acquiring text-analytics software maker
April 30, 2007Reuters is acquiring text-analytics software maker Clearforest, which has been working with the news service to boost search rankings for its business stories. In addition to the purchase, the terms of which have not been disclosed, Reuters has created a new strategic group to focus on search initiatives and named Gerry Campbell, who previously helped lead search efforts for AOL, as global head of search and strategic development.
