Pearson will buy AGS Publishing from WRC Media for $270m. AGS Publishing is based in Minnesota, US, and will allow Pearson to expand its portfolio of educational materials, such as assessments and curriculum materials, for students with special educational needs. Operating profit at AGS was $23 million in 2004, excluding certain costs. The acquisition is expected to be complete by the third quarter of 2005.
