When it comes to automation of legal services, much of the low-hanging fruit available for harvest is in transactional practice areas, because those practices are already somewhat standarized and process-oriented. But litigation offers its own set of incentives: by being one of the most expensive and low-tech forms of legal practice, it too is ripe for technological interventions.
