ERP Systems in Higher Education
Inquiry Overview
A technology vendor requested custom research from Eduventures to better understand the perception of various enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. In particular, the vendor sought to understand institutional interest and the intent to move to alternative solutions.
Key Questions
- What are the current and future budgets slated for SIS/ERP solutions?
- How many institutions plan to purchase their first ERP or replace their current system?
- What perceptions do administrators have of leading SIS/ERP solution providers?
- What are the required vs. “nice to have” product features?
Methodology
For this custom inquiry, Eduventures administered an incentive-laden Web survey targeting CIOs/CTOs, VPs/Deans/Directors of Technology or Computing across three institutional segments: (1) four-year private, (2) four-year public, and (3) two-year private/public institutions. The Web survey yielded a total of 60 responses (20 in each segment).
