Digital Learning Technologies and Instructional Impacts
With the current growth rate of online learning projected at 23.7% through 2007, postsecondary institutions are focused less on whether or not to offer online programs, and more on how to offer programs that better serve students and differentiate a school from competitors. Technologies such as extended learning, ubiquitous wireless, and intelligent searching will become important to institutions as they work towards those goals. However, if instructional technologies are to reach their full potential in the classroom, faculty members must have the opportunity to learn about these tools, the benefits of using them, and how these tools can be incorporated into teaching practices.
