About Our Website
Outsell's website makes it easy for clients to access our research and advisory services, and for visitors to learn about them. We developed the site in less than 90 days, thanks in part to using an eight-week agile, iterative development process. We welcome feedback and hope you enjoy the site.
For Outsell Clients
Our research and advisory clients told us that they wanted quick access to all of their content in one place, including archives. With this in mind, we built the site around dashboards that correspond to major market segments of the information industry, such as B2B Trade; Education & Training; News Providers; and Scientific, Technical & Medical.
Clients can log in at the upper right-hand corner of the site to access their research, including reports, Insights posts, and our unique databases containing information industry analytics.
Here are just some of the things clients can do on their dashboard page.
For Outsell.com Visitors
Visitors can quickly see what Outsell offers on the “I care about” list. Clicking on a link leads to that information industry segment’s dashboard. Each dashboard presents Outsell research pertinent to that segment, such as B2B Trade; Education & Training; News Providers; and Scientific, Technical & Medical.
More On Agile, Iterative Development and the Tools We Used
During our eight-week agile, iterative development process, our team used collaborative tools like instant messaging, Campfire, and Skype, and code/project management tools like Trac and Subversion, to enable rapid development. The use of open-source software/Web frameworks like AJAX, Ruby on Rails, and MySQL kept costs to a minimum.
Our goal in choosing this non-traditional method was to provide a more satisfying user experience. Agile development is a flexible process that strives to ensure that the resulting product is user-centered, user-friendly, and easy to update in order to meet changing market demands.
